Raya Eve 2005

And here comes the night before raya. With being so far from our families and home countries, we have just us to celebrate it. Of course we try to make it as eventful as much we can. I bought a whole chicken and we tried making rendang with it. My beautiful, gorgeous mom posted us some instant ketupat, kuah kacang, serunding, rendang paste, yellow rice and lemang to help us celebrate hari raya.
So the night before (after fooling around with the poor chicken), I tried my hands at making kerutuk and rendang. Emma baked some raya cookies and well Meen was too busy with plans with her other friends. But she stuck through with us all night long

Suci's farewell
|
|
Suci's leaving for Brunei today. We all went to the airport to send her off. She paid for the cab of course 
We also went because it's our first time at the new airport 
After we sent her off.. we went exploring more of the airport. There were so many little shops and it looks much cleaner and sophisticated than the one before.
So here we are !!

Emma's Celebration

Well since Emma's the only one whose bday is on the day where we all will be back in our home countries, we decided to throw her a be-earliered bday celebration !!
She picked Ba'an Thai restaurant as well as her place to celebrate the night. It's still puasa month so we break our fast there. Then we went back to Emma's and got 2 birthday cakes !! My ever famous black forest cheesecake and another instant mix chocolate cake by Suc.
It was just all fun

Well it's a semi formal party like actually. It's dinner with music and some people talk. Obviously I was just there for the food !! Yummy msian food..

Mawson Lakes

I was chosen as a representative of our uni to talk to some people coming from all over the world advertising our uni. It was held in Mawson Lakes campus and as Meen has never been there before and so have I, she volunteered to accompany me there.

Meen's celebration

So here's the big day for Meen
There were a crowd at Meen's small apartment in Hartley's and so much food !! She had two cakes (I made one for her) and some pressies.
Izmia's leaving Oz tomorrow for good. She's goind back to Maldives so but stopped by and celebrated with us (how sweet).

Crab hunt

I accompanied Meen to shop for some seafood for the big celebration day. We found this fish shop that sells reasonable prices on seafood. We bought crabs and fish and some other stuff for the big day.

Meen's bday eve
|

Well Meen's bday is on the 7th. We don't celebrate the eve of it cos there'll be a big celebration on the 9th when all our assignments are done and over with
So instead we surprised her with a bday cake at midnite !! However, Emma successfully and conveniently spoiled the surprise for us when she accidently sms her (Meen) asking what time we're coming to surprise her. 
Obviously the surprise didn't turn out well but Meen is a good sport so she pretended to be surprised and didn't tell us that she knew about the surprise all along until she blew her candles off.
